Kevin R. Holmes

BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Kevin R. Holmes serves as the United States Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas, having been nominated by President Donald J. Trump and confirmed by the United States Senate. As the chief federal law enforcement officer for the district, Mr. Holmes is both the primary representative of the United States in legal matters and the administrative head of the Office of the United States Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO) is responsible for the prosecution of federal crimes and for representing the United States in civil litigation, whether as plaintiff or defendant. In this capacity, Mr. Holmes oversees the enforcement of federal law, the pursuit of justice, and the protection of the interests of the United States within the Western District of Arkansas. Mr. Holmes works in coordination with federal law enforcement personnel operating in the Western District of Arkansas including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), United States Secret Service, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Prior to his appointment as United States Attorney, Mr. Holmes built a distinguished career spanning more than two decades in public service and private practice. He has served as the Elected Prosecuting Attorney for the 21st Judicial District in Arkansas (Crawford County), as a public defender, and maintained a private law practice for 19 years before entering public service.

A native of Van Buren, Arkansas, Mr. Holmes is a graduate of Van Buren High School, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and the University of Arkansas School of Law. His extensive legal experience, combined with his deep roots in the community, reflect his lifelong commitment to upholding the rule of law and serving the people of Arkansas and the United States.
