Monty Wilkinson

Monty Wilkinson was appointed the Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Human Resources and Administration in May 2019.  He also served as the Department’s Chief Human Capital Officer.  In this position, he had oversight responsibilities for Human Resources, Security and Emergency Planning, the Justice Library, the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity, the Office of the Executive Secretariat, and the Consolidated Executive Office.

Mr. Wilkinson joined the Justice Management Division (JMD) in December 2017 and served as Senior Counselor in the Office of the Assistant Attorney General for Administration.  Prior to joining JMD, Mr. Wilkinson served as the Director of the Executive Office for United States Attorneys (EOUSA), having been appointed to that position by former Attorney General Eric H. Holder, Jr., on March 29, 2014.   Before that, he served as the Principal Deputy Director and Chief of Staff of EOUSA.

During his career with the Department of Justice, Mr. Wilkinson has served as Counselor and Deputy Chief of Staff to the Attorney General, and as an Associate Deputy Attorney General.  He also held senior management positions for nearly a decade in the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. Mr. Wilkinson started his career at the Department of Justice as a trial attorney in the Criminal Division, serving in the Narcotic and Dangerous Drug Section and the Organized Crime and Racketeering Section.

Mr. Wilkinson is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the Georgetown University Law Center. He is the recipient of a U.S. Department of Justice Special Achievement Award, a United States Attorney’s Office Distinguished Service Award, and the Attorney General’s Mary C. Lawton Lifetime Service Award.
