Jeff Jensen was nominated by President Donald Trump on July 14, 2017, and confirmed by the U.S. Senate on October 4, 2017. He took the oath of office on October 6, 2017.
“I am honored to serve as the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri. The issues faced by law enforcement have never been more challenging. I am grateful for the opportunity to work through these challenges with law enforcement personnel and the citizens they serve,” Jensen said.
As U.S. Attorney, Jeff Jensen is the top-ranking federal law enforcement official in the Eastern District of Missouri. The district serves 49 counties within 3 divisions – Northern, Eastern and Southern. The office is responsible for prosecuting federal crimes in the District, including crimes related to terrorism, public corruption, child exploitation, firearms and narcotics. The office also defends the United States in civil cases and collects debts owed to the United States.
Jensen graduated from the Indiana University School of Business before becoming a CPA for PricewaterhouseCoopers. He then became an FBI agent for 10 years and graduated from the St. Louis University School of Law. Jensen served another 10 years as an Assistant U.S. Attorney before going into private practice in 2009.
