United States v. Steven Fritz Kessler

Steven Fritz Kessler pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail fraud by knowingly facilitating the sale of consumer data to the orchestrators of a fraudulent prize promotion scheme that purported to be an official “Notification of Unclaimed Cash and Prizes.”  The fraudulent letter stated that the recipients were “fully eligible for the total amount reported,” which was listed as $2,451,786.00.  The prize notification letter instructed consumers to send a $20 fee to Naples, Florida, to claim the funds.  The scheme operated from approximately May to September 2017.
