Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) (CLOSED) United States v. Baby-Tenda Corporation, No. 05-CV-00907-ODS (W.D. Mo.) On September 29, 2005, the United States filed suit in federal court in the Western District of Missouri against Baby-Tenda Corporation (aka Babee Tenda Corporation). The complaint seeks an injunction and other equitable relief against the defendant company. It alleges that some of defendant's distributors advertised their “safety seminars” using invitations and other materials that display the names or logos of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) and/or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (“NHTSA”) in such a way as to falsely imply that these government agencies sponsor or cosponsor the seminars. Update: 11/2007: Judge Ortrie D. Smith of Kansas City, Missouri, conducted a bench trial in this case on October 17-18, 2007.
