
Jonathan Lewin
On August 16, 2023, Jonathan Lewin was appointed Acting Deputy Director of INTERPOL Washington, the U.S. National Central Bureau. He serves as the Executive Officer for Operations for INTERPOL Washington. In 2020, he retired as Chief of the Bureau of Technical Services for the Chicago Police Department, where he was a sworn member for 28 years. Lewin served as a board member and past-Chair of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Law Enforcement Information Technology Section and was the Major Cities Chiefs of Police representative on DHS SAFECOM and FirstNet's Public Safety Advisory Council. Lewin currently serves on the IACP Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Committee. At the request of the Commission on the Future of Policing in Ireland, Lewin conducted a site visit to the Gardai and contributed to the Commission’s report.
Lewin was named one of Government Technology’s Top 25 Doers, Dreamers, and was awarded Technology Champion of the Year by the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE). He earned a BS in Administration of Justice at Southern Illinois University, an MA in Public Policy at Northwestern University, and an MA in Security Studies at the Naval Postgraduate School.
