Archived Guidance

Archived guidance may be superseded by new developments in the law. Some guidance articles may have direct notices that the guidance has been impacted over time.  For any topic addressed in archived guidance, agencies should consult the most recent resources available, including new decisions, the Department of Justice Guide to the FOIA and OIP’s most recent guidance articles.  If you have a question regarding any topic addressed in archived guidance, please contact OIP's FOIA Counselor Service Line at (202) 514-FOIA (3642).
