New Dates for Continuing Requester Roundtable Series

Continuing in our series of quarterly FOIA Requester Roundtable meetings, OIP will again be teaming with the Office of Government Information Services to host discussions between the FOIA requester and agency communities in the upcoming months.  These discussions will focus on various issues that surround the administration of the FOIA throughout the government, and provide an opportunity for the FOIA requester community to participate in the exchange of ideas, with the goal of increasing the understanding of the issues that all parties are faced with when working with the FOIA. These meetings will take place on:
  • April 25, 2012 - 10am to noon in the OIP Conference Room (1425 New York Ave., NW, Suite 11050), Topic - Searches for Records: Challenges and Opportunities
  • July 25, 2012 - 10am to noon at the National Archives Building (700 Pennsylvania Ave., NW, room to be announced), Topic - Methods of Declassification
  • October 24, 2012 - 10am to noon in the OIP Conference Room (1425 New York Ave., NW, Suite 11050), Topic - FOIA and Privacy Act Interface
If you are interested in attending, please e-mail your name and phone number to OIP’s Training Officer, Bertina Adams at DOJ.OIP.FOIA@usdoj.gov.  As space for these meetings is limited, registration is required to attend, and remember that you will need a picture ID to enter the buildings for these meetings.  If you have any questions regarding these events, please contact Ms. Adams at (202) 514-1010.
