Power Dynamics and Abuse in Collegiate Sports

The Department of Justice's Office on Violence Against Women and the Civil Rights Division hosted a webinar on April 29, 2024, on Power Dynamics and Abuse in Collegiate Sports. Panelists included Aria Vaughan, senior trial attorney in the DOJ's Civil Rights Division; Emily Austin, senior policy and advocacy specialist at The Army of Survivors; and Katrina Monton, organizational consultant, applicant, and Olympian.

The Educational Opportunities Section within the Civil Rights Division at the Department of Justice has recently resolved a number of Title IX investigations involving institutions of higher education. Learn more about the Department's findings and the systemic changes secured in settlement agreements with the following universities:
