Wayne Man Sentenced to 25 Years for the Sexual Abuse of a Minor and Child Pornography

On November 14, 2017, the defendant, Joseph P. Totoro, II, 51 of Wayne, PA was sentenced to a term of 25 years of incarceration, 10 years of supervised release, and a $725 special assessment for the sexual abuse of a child over a two year time period.  The defendant was convicted in August 2017 of attempted production of child pornography, enticement of a minor, receipt of child pornography, possession of child pornography, transfer of obscene matter to a minor, and blackmail. 

 

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. Led by United States Attorneys' Offices and the Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS), Project Safe Childhood marshals federal, state and local resources to better locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet, as well as to identify and rescue victims. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.  The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Priya T. De Souza.
