Morgantown man convicted, sentenced for escape

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – Franklin McVay, 30, of Morgantown, West Virginia, was convicted and sentenced today for escape, United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced.
In March 2016, McVay escaped from custody at the Dismas Charities of Clarksburg Halfway House in Harrison County, West Virginia.
McVay pled guilty today to an Information charging him with one count of “Escape.” He was sentenced today to twelve months and one day in prison.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew R. Cogar prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The United States Marshals Service investigated.
U.S. District Judge Irene M. Keeley presided.
