Randolph County man sentenced or transporting stolen property

ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA – Travis Charles White, of Kerens, West Virginia, was sentenced today to 15 months of incarceration for charges related to taking stolen items across state lines, Acting U.S. Attorney Randolph J. Bernard announced.

White, 43, pleaded guilty in December 2020 to one count of “Interstate Transportation of Stolen Property.” White admitted to taking more than $16,000 of stolen U.S. Savings Bonds from West Virginia to Colorado. The crime occurred in February 2017 in Randolph County.

White was also ordered to pay $16,677.91 in restitution.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Danae DeMasi-Lemon prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. The West Virginia State Police investigated.

U.S. District Judge Thomas S. Kleeh presided.
