Montenegro: U.S. Embassy Promotes ICITAP Efforts to Combat Violence
On May 13, the U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission, the Croatian Deputy Police Director General, and the Croatian Police Academy Assistant Director officially opened the seventh cycle of the regional law enforcement training program “Partnership for Education” as well as the newly established ICITAP office at the Police Academy. The 2019 training cycle starts with the “Complex Case Investigations” training. Since 2013, this PFE Program has gathered law enforcement professionals from the region including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia to participate in training on the latest methodologies and techniques in various fields of law enforcement work, enabling knowledge and experience exchange, and develop and strengthen the regional law enforcement cooperation. This 2019 cycle will provide trainings in areas of Complex Case Investigations, Human Trafficking and Smuggling Investigations, Cybercrime Investigations, Financial Investigations, Corruption Investigations, Senior Management followed by the Tabletop Exercise encompassing knowledge received in previous trainings. In partnership with and support from the State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), ICITAP is delivering this training series along with the Croatian Police Academy, General Police Directorate, and the State Attorney’s Office.
