Nepal: ICITAP Joins U.S. Embassy to Prepare Police for Greater International Engagement

On February 4, ICITAP-Nepal, in coordination with the Regional English Language Office (RELO) and the Consular Office at the U.S. Embassy in Kathmandu, launched the Communicative English Language and Operational Skills Training for the Nepal Tourist Police at the Tourism Board facilities in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu. Since the Fall of 2018, ICITAP has been working with the RELO and the Consular Office to facilitate English-language training for Nepal Police Tourist Police Unit. The U.S. Ambassador to Nepal, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal, and the Nepal Government’s Tourism Secretary addressed the inaugural ceremony. This course will be conducted at key tourist destinations, including Kathmandu, Pokhara, Lumbini and Chitwan focusing on Nepal’s Tourism Year 2020, and is two weeks in length. The courses are designed to reinforce existing skills while taking that skill set to the next level.
