2016 DOJ Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Pride Month Program

The Department of Justice held the annual LGBT Pride Month Program. The theme for this year’s program was “The Struggle for Equality Continues.”  During the program, remarks were delivered by the Honorable Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch and the program keynote speaker, Shannon Price Minter, Legal Director of the National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR), one of the Nation’s leading advocacy organizations for LGBT people.  In addition, DOJ Pride (the association of LGBT employees of the Department, and their allies), presented its Gerald B. Roemer Community Service Award to Mr. Minter in recognition of his contributions to the LGBT Community and its James R. Douglass Award to FBI Pride founder Ashley Evans in recognition of her positive contributions to the work life environment for LGBT employees of the Department.
