Overview

On July 18, 2018, the United States entered into a settlement agreement with Pacific Mercantile Bank, resolving the United States’ claims that the bank engaged in a pattern or practice of discrimination on the bases of race and national origin in violation of the Fair Housing Act (FHA) and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA).  The settlement provides $1 million in relief to borrowers whom the United States alleges were harmed based on discrimination in the pricing of mortgage loans.
