United States v. Mani (M.D. Pa.)

Overview

On August 5, 2026, the United States Attorney’s Office filed a complaint in United States v. Mani (M.D. Pa.), alleging that Venkatachalam Mani, a landlord in State College, Pennsylvania, sexually harassed a female tenant and then retaliated against her after she rejected his advances by failing to fix her furnace despite freezing temperatures, forcing her and her four minor children to move into a hotel.  The case was referred to the Division after the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) received a complaint, conducted an investigation, and issued a charge of discrimination.
