Overview

On July 13, 2020, the United States filed an amended complaint and proposed consent order in United States v. The Pointe Apartments Owner, LP, et al. (E.D. Pa.).  The case was referred to the Division after the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) received a complaint, conducted an investigation, and issued a charge of discrimination.  The complaint alleges that the defendants discriminated on the basis of familial status by adopting policies and practices that prohibited children from using amenities at the apartment complex without adult supervision.  The consent order provides for injunctive relief and monetary damages for the HUD complainant.  The court entered the consent order on July 13, 2020.
