  • Exemption 1: The Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit holds that "[t]he district court properly deferred to the experience and expertise of the government and determined that the contested records had national security implications sufficient to trigger Exemption 1." "[The] court has 'carefully and thoroughly reviewed' the government's classified declarations . . . and we agree with the district court that the government has sufficiently supported its invocation of Exemption 1."
