OIP Training Sessions on Exemption 2 After Milner

OIP will be providing two training sessions on Exemption 2 in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision in Milner v. Department of the Navy.    The first session will be held next week on May 17, 2011, before the start of OIP’s Fee Summit.  This session will begin at 9:15a.m. and will be held in the same location as the Fee Summit, which is in the Great Hall of the Department of Justice.   OIP will provide Exemption 2 training a second time on June 9, 2011, at 10:00a.m., also in the Great Hall of the Department of Justice.    During these training sessions, OIP’s Director will review OIP’s newly issued guidance on Exemption 2 and answer any questions that agencies may have.

This training is for government personnel and registration is required.  Please register for the Exemption 2 training by sending an e-mail to DOJ.OIP.FOIA@usdoj.gov.   Please specify the date you wish to attend the training.  Also, if you are registering for the May 17th session and are already registered to attend the Fee Summit, please mention that in your email.  For any questions, please feel free to contact OIP at (202) 514-3642.
