Celebrating the Anniversary of the ADA

Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez highlights several American with Disabilities Act (ADA) accomplishments and current projects that the Justice Department has been working on in recent years. "Thanks to the work of so many of you in this room, the ADA has both literally and figuratively opened millions of doors for individuals with disabilities across this nation. Just as importantly, it has revolutionized the way our society thinks about individuals with disabilities, and it has revolutionized the way people with disabilities live in our communities."

U.S. Attorney Steve Dettelbach, Chair of the Attorney General's Advisory Committee, Civil Rights Subcommittee and a leader in disability rights enforcement, reiterates the efforts of the U.S. Attorneys to enforce the ADA. "We, U.S. Attorneys, will continue to work in partnership with you all to help deliver real justice to every city, town, road, park, hotel, office, hospital and building in this great nation."
