ENRD Earth Day Community Service Event
The Justice Department's Environment and Natural Resource Division hosted a special event commemorating Earth Day 2014 at Marvin Gaye Park in Washington, DC on Tuesday, April 22. There were brief remarks by Acting Assistant Attorney General Robert Dreher, and Deputy Attorney General James Cole. 2014 marked the 11th consecutive Earth Day service celebration at Marvin Gaye Park in Northeast Washington, D.C. In those 11 years, volunteers from the Environment Division have been planting trees, removing trash, laying sod, and gardening. On Tuesday, the Division volunteers worked with the DC Green Corps to expand trails and plant garden beds, among other projects at the Community Greening Center, located in the 5000 block of the Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue, NE.
