ABSTRACT: This system of records contains copies of Freedom of Information and Privacy Act requests received by the Office of Professional Responsibility, copies of responses to requesters, copies of the documents responsive to the requests, copies of the documents withheld, internal memoranda and correspondence related to the requests, records relating to appeals and/or litigation, and disclosure accounting records.
PURPOSE: Information in this system is maintained to enable the Office of Professional Responsibility to receive, process and respond to Freedom of Information and Privacy Act requests.
ACCESS CONSTRAINTS: All records in the Office of Professional Responsibility are protected from unauthorized access through appropriate administrative, physical and technical safeguards. These safeguards include restricting access using locks, safes, passwords and/or encrypting data communications.
USE CONSTRAINTS: Access to office information, other than information on the website http://www.justice.gov/opr is limited.
AGENCY PROGRAM: The processing of Freedom of Information and Privacy Act requests for regulatory guidelines, complaints against Department of Justice attorneys, and inquiries or investigations conducted by the Office of Professional Responsibility.
SOURCES OF DATA: Sources of information contained in the system include individuals making Freedom of Information and Privacy Act requests, individuals that are the subject of complaints or allegations of misconduct, and other individuals whose names appear in responsive records.

ORDER PROCESS: A request for access to records contained in this system shall be made in writing, with the envelope and the letter clearly marked "Privacy Access Request." Include in the request your full name, complete address, date of birth, place of birth, notarized signature, and other identifying data you may wish to furnish to assist in making a proper search of our records. Requests for access to information must be addressed to: Counsel, Office of Professional Responsibility, Department of Justice, Room 3335, 950 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. Washington, D.C. 20530.
