IT Summer Internships

The United States Attorney's Office offers unpaid summer internships for students in Computer/Information Science and Technology College. The 2025 Summer Internship Program will start on May 19, 2025 and end on July 27, 2025. This program is full-time (9am-5pm) in-person at our Philadelphia office.

The program allows interns to work with the eLitigation Support and IT Systems units.  IT Interns will learn about the eLitigation process, IT infrastructure, and working in a DevOps environment. The summer IT intern supervisor will try to align assignments with interns’ interests.  The assignments typically include:

  • eLitigation and IT support;
  • Working with eDiscovery;
  • Trial and office presentation support;
  • Coding project to solve an automation problem.

Interns will also attend lectures in which they learn relevant skills and hear from various participants in the federal criminal justice system. Speakers include Federal agents and staff members of the United States Attorney’s Office. When possible, the office also sponsors field trips to relevant locations (such as prisons and other federal agencies).

To be hired, an applicant must be:

  • currently enrolled in a college
  • a United States citizen

  • successfully cleared following a background check undertaken by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (which includes inquiry into illegal drug use and bad debts)
