Working as legal extern for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Idaho was an invaluable experience for me, as I learned so much about procedures and practice of Federal Court. The attorneys in the office were beyond supportive, especially Branch Manager Traci Whelan. Some of my assignments included reading complaints, analyzing testimony and evidence, and drafting court documents. The skills I acquired from my assignment will be useful throughout my career. Most importantly, I learned a great deal about other federal agencies that worked closely with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, such as the U.S. Marshals and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Overall, I was extremely pleased with my experience at this office and would recommend this internship to any law student.
