Programs
The U.S. Attorney's Office, Northern District of Ohio is involved in a number of programs and projects in our community. Some of our major efforts are listed below.
Cleveland Police Reform | A wide-ranging agreement between the United States Department of Justice and the City of Cleveland to create reforms and changes within the Cleveland Division of Police (CDP). |
Community Outreach | The U.S. Attorney’s office takes every available opportunity to communicate with residents in order to hear their concerns and priorities in the Northern District of Ohio. |
Defending Children | The United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Ohio is committed to the safety and well-being of every child and has placed a high priority on combating sexual exploitation of minors. |
Elder Justice Initiative | The United States Attorney's Office and Department of Justice are committed to Combatting elder abuse, neglect, financial fraud, and scams that target our nation's seniors. Elder fraud schemes take a variety of forms that range from small-scale identity thefts involving impersonation of a senior to mass mailing fraud schemes that steal from thousands of elderly victims. These schemes defraud America's seniors out of billions of dollars annually. |
Environmental Justice | Environmental crimes and injustice can happen anywhere; however, communities of color and low-income neighborhoods often pay a higher price for these offenses. Securing environmental justice for all communities in the Northern District of Ohio and the county as a whole is a priority for the Department of Justice. |
Heroin and Opioid Task Force | The opioid crisis is the deadliest drug crisis in American history. Find facts, resources, and news about what the Northern District of Ohio is doing to combat the opioid crisis. |
Ensuring that all people are treated fairly and enjoy equal protection under the law is a top priority in the U.S. Attorney’s Office. | |
Law Enforcement Initiatives | The U.S. Attorney's Office is responsible for coordinating a comprehensive law enforcement and crime prevention strategy for Northern Ohio. |
Project Safe Neighborhoods | A nationwide initiative that brings together federal, state, and local law enforcement officials, prosecutors, and community leaders to identify the most pressing violent crime problems in a community and develop comprehensive solutions to address them. |
Victim Witness Assistance | Victims of crime may experience feelings of confusion, frustration, fear and anger. The Victim/Witness Unit is dedicated to making sure that victims of federal crimes and their family members are treated with compassion, fairness and respect. |
