From November 2 to 5, ICITAP-Indonesia’s National Training Reform project conducted two iterations of Digital Skills Course training for thirty instructors of the Metro Jaya Police Training Center in Lido, Bogor. The training is aimed to provide the instructors with necessary digital literacy skills, an understanding of the principles of distance learning (both synchronous and asynchronous), and a highlight of the e-library system and usage. The course was designed to provide strategies to face the ongoing pandemic situation, which dictates that learning should not be centered on face-to-face interaction, but on a more networked approach. Students were provided with direct connection strategies highlighting the different variety of information sources. Online training tips and principles were also delivered and practiced, and an in-depth look at the learning management system for distance education was discussed. In Indonesia, ICITAP works with the support of and in coordination with the State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).
