From March 13 to 16, 2023, after a four-year hiatus, ICITAP held its first hybrid, in-person and virtual regional meeting, post-pandemic, for the Western Hemisphere in Mexico City in 2023. In attendance was Director Greg Ducot, Deputy Directors Art Venegas and Nicole Whitaker as well as representatives from HQ programs, and ICITAP law enforcement assistance attachés from Mexico, Central America, and Colombia. The group was greeted with opening remarks from the U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission. Scheduled through March 16, attendees delivered presentations on the opportunities and risks in their various regions and heard from other Embassy law enforcement and security partners including FBI, DEA, ATF, OPDAT, EXBS, CT, and INL as well as various headquarters programs such as Forensics and the Engaging Multinational Police Women on Equality and Rights (EMPoWER) Program. Also scheduled throughout the week were opportunities to learn and ask questions in sessions about Inter Agency Agreements, Data Collection, Training Tracker, Contract Management, and administrative issues.
