Armenia: New Patrol Police Officers Begin Service in Yerevan

On July 7, officers from the newly formed Armenian national patrol police began their patrol duties in the Capital City of Yerevan. On June 26, a total of 690 of these officers graduated after having begun their academy training on January 18 of 2021. A formal swearing-in ceremony will take place at the end of this month. ICITAP-Armenia has been supporting instructors responsible for teaching the new democratic policing cadets.  In Armenia, ICITAP works jointly with the State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) to advise, train, and assist the Armenian government in standing up newly trained and selected law enforcement agencies.
