North Macedonia: ICITAP Supports Medical Forensic Institute with Upgrade of DNA Identification Software

On September 28, 2023, ICITAP confirmed the finalization of an upgrade of the Medical Forensic Institute Gene Mapper software. This software is an automated genotyping solution for forensic casework and databasing data analysis, as well as for paternity data analysis, which will significantly increase the effectiveness within the procedures of all human identification analysis. ICITAP continues supporting the North Macedonia forensic services by helping them to upgrade and sustain their laboratory conformity requirements and become accredited on the ISO/IEC 17025 standard. ICITAP works with the support of and in coordination with the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) and the US Embassy.
