Dominican Republic: ICITAP Supports Development of New Strategic Plan for National Police

On July 13, the ICITAP-supported proposal outlining the methodology for developing the new strategic plan was presented to Central Directorate of Planning for the Dominican National Police. The methodology introduces the institutional objectives with the present global and local context, contributing directly to Human Development, Sustainable Development Goals, international conventions, and principles of Human Rights. The plan also addresses the findings, needs, and gaps identified in internal and external studies, the plans of the Citizen Security and Gender Boards, and the National Development Strategy. As a result, the proposal was approved by the Central Directorate of Planning, and a work plan with actions and schedule was coordinated. In the Dominican Republic, ICITAP works with the support of and in coordination with USAID.
