Indonesia: ICITAP-Mentored Police Increase Public Engagement to Reduce Impact of COVID-19 on Citizens
On May 13, the ICITAP-Indonesia mission reported that the Indonesian National Police (INP) continue to monitor the activities within their communities with a hands-on presence and via social media portals. ICITAP-mentored officers who have been involved in ICITAP’s Strategic Messaging Courses, Woman’s Leadership Development Program (WLDP), and Patrol Reorganization (INPR) remain active through the COVID-19 pandemic with awareness posts and updates, emphasizing areas where citizens are not respecting social distancing and curfew measures, alerting citizens of the updated requirements, and assisting with varied health and safety issues. In Indonesia, ICITAP works with the support of and in coordination with the U.S. Department of State.
