Nepal: ICITAP launches Job Task Analysis Process with Nepal Police

On August 13, ICITAP launched a collaborative program with the Nepal Police academy to develop the first Job Task Analysis (JTA) for the Criminal Investigator position. Criminal investigators play an important role in combatting crime that have national and international impact. The Nepal Police Academy recognized the importance of ensuring that the current and future investigators receive the best training available. As a result, a working group consisting of senior officers from the Research and Planning, Human Resources, Criminal Investigations Division, Nepal Police Academy, and the Detective Academy, was created to implement the Job Task Analysis Process. ICITAP will mentor the team members through the process in order to complete the JTA for the investigator, as well as train Nepal Police representatives on how to execute the process. The Nepal Police has expressed an interest in expanding the JTA process to other positions in the organization in the future. In Nepal, ICITAP provides assistance to the Nepal Police with the support of and in coordination with the State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (State/INL).
