Ukraine: ICITAP Recognized by National Police, Marking Fifth Anniversary of New Police Organization

On July 7, the National Police of Ukraine (NPU) presented the ICITAP-Ukraine Mission with a “Certificate of Gratitude.” The NPU Deputy Head of Prevention stated, in his remarks during the presentation, that the plaque, which is signed by the Chief of the NPU, symbolizes their appreciation for all of the successful work performed by ICITAP in support of the historic and ongoing police reform in Ukraine. July 4, 2020 marked the fifth anniversary since the very first graduation of 2,000 NPU officers, which was attended by the U.S. Ambassador, the President of Ukraine, and the Prime Minister of Ukraine and took place on St. Sofia Square in the capital city of Kyiv. The plaque acknowledges the strong, long-standing partnership that exists between the NPU and ICITAP. In Ukraine, ICITAP works with the support of and in coordination with the State Department’s Bureau of International narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL).
