U.S. Marshals National Violence Reduction Operation Captures More Than 1,500 Fugitives
On Wednesday, July 6 2022 Attorney General Merrick B. Garland and Deputy Attorney General Lisa O. Monaco were briefed by U.S. Marshals Service Director Ronald L. Davis on a recent fugitive apprehension initiative aimed at combating violent crime in 10 cities with a significant number of homicides and shootings. Following the briefing, the Attorney General discussed the results of the enforcement actions, which resulted in the arrest of hundreds of fugitives wanted for the most serious, violent, and harmful offenses – including homicide, sexual assault, robbery, and aggravated assault.
