Court Assigned: This case is assigned to the Honorable Philip P. Simon, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, United States Courthouse 5400 Federal Plaza, Hammond, IN 46320. Unless noted in an update below, all court events will take place at this location.


UPDATE –April 9, 2019: On March 22, 2019, the court sentenced defendant Christopher Salis to 6 months of incarceration, followed by 2 years of supervised release, and ordered the defendant to forfeit $95,300.


On March 14, 2019, the court sentenced defendants Douglas Miller and Edward Miller.

Defendant Douglas Miller who pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit securities and wire fraud and one count of making a false statement was sentenced to 24 months of incarceration, followed by 2 years of supervised release, and ordered to forfeit $209,915.88.

Defendant Edward Miller, who also pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit securities and wire fraud as well as one count of obstruction of justice, was sentenced to 6 months of incarceration, followed by 2 years of supervised release, and ordered to forfeit $222,628.17.

No restitution was ordered.


On February 26, 2019, the court rescheduled the sentencing hearings for defendants Douglas Miller and Edward Miller for March 14, 2019 at 10:30 AM.

In addition, the sentencing hearing for defendant Christopher Salis has been rescheduled for March 22, 2019 at 9:00 AM.


A sentencing hearing for defendants Douglas Miller and Edward Miller is scheduled for January 11, 2019.

In addition, a sentencing hearing for defendant Christopher Salis is scheduled for January 22, 2019.
