Defendant Dennis N. Abbott, a former trader at BP Products North America (BP), pleaded guilty on June 28, 2006 before Judge James Robertson in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Defendant Abbott pleaded guilty to a one count information charging him with conspiracy (18 U.S.C. 371) in connection with a scheme to manipulate and corner the propane market. Abbott’s sentencing date previously scheduled for April 24, 2009 was vacated on February 4, 2009, and beginning April 30, 2009, pursuant to an order entered by Judge Robertson, counsel was directed to file interim status reports at 90 day intervals.
On May 14, 2010 the case was transferred from Judge Robertson to the Judge Ellen Segal Huvelle by direction of the Calendar Committee.
