Introducing the Justice Acquisition Innovation Lab (JAIL)
The JAIL Guiding Principles outlines a participative approach to innovation that includes coaching, collaboration, innovation, partnership, and results management with an eye on organizational improvements within the enterprise-wide acquisition program. All members of the Department of Justice (DOJ) acquisition workforce (AWF) are encouraged to lean in and lead the charge to continually expand the use of creative and innovative practices to enhance the acquisition program, support greater contractual outcomes, and smartly move into the future to grow the Department’s acquisition program.
The JAIL focuses on APPREHENDING INNOVATION and using the various activities to improve the department-wide acquisition program. The JAIL Guiding Principles provides more information and replaces the previously issued DOJ Acquisition Innovation Guide and will be incorporated into the Justice Acquisition Manual (JAM).
The JAIL Guiding Principles can be found on the Acquisition Gateway under Government-wide initiatives–Additional Resources–Department of Justice–About Department of Justice at:

The Acquisition Gateway is a resource for acquisition professionals and project teams to research government-wide acquisition programs, policies, and market strategies. All federal government employees have full access to the Acquisition Gateway. In the spirit of open government and transparency, the general public also has access to most of the Gateway. Federal employees can view protected information on the Acquisition Gateway using LOGIN.gov authentication.
