Office of Acquisition Management
Mission
The Office of Acquisition Management (OAM) supports the Chief Acquisition Officer and Senior Procurement Executive in managing an efficient acquisition system that implements the requirements of pertinent statutes, regulations and other guidance; promoting effective business practices to achieve public policy objectives; and ensuring that acquisition personnel are properly trained and have a clear understanding of the mission and objectives of Department acquisition management programs. The OAM also provides acquisition support to the Department's Offices, Boards, and Divisions (OBDs). The OBDs include the Department's litigating components (Antitrust Division, Civil Division, Civil Rights Division, Criminal Division, Environment and Natural Resources Division, Tax Division, U.S. Attorneys and the U.S. Trustee Program) as well as other DOJ components such as the Justice Management Division Staffs.
Bureau Procurement Chiefs
The Department has nine components with the procurement authority to manage the DOJ’s contracting activities. Procurement activities in each of these components are led by a Bureau Procurement Chief.
