PRE-INTERVIEW SUBMISSIONS

Honors Program

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives requests a statement of interest, a writing sample and an updated resume.

Submission Deadline

As soon as possible but not later than 5 days after notification of selection for an interview.

Format

Adobe Acrobat PDF

Type of Writing Sample

Interview candidates should submit one sample only reflecting the candidate’s best legal analysis and advocacy.

The sample should be an original piece of the candidate’s choice, not too lengthy, and should not have been extensively edited by a third party (e.g., not a heavily-edited law review article or a judicial opinion).  If the sample is a portion of a larger document, an explanation should be included at the beginning of the sample.

If you provide an extract from a longer piece, you may add a summary for context prior to the actual writing sample.

Submission Method

Submit one PDF with all three documents via e-mail as an attachment to April.Harris@atf.gov.

The email subject line should reflect Firearms Attorney / Honors Program Submissions and the candidate's name

Special Instructions

Ensure the documents submitted clearly identify the candidate by name or contain the candidate's name at the top, right corner of the first page.
