The Tax Division will independently contact SLIP candidates to schedule interviews, which may by Webex or may be telephonic.

HONORS PROGRAM PRE-INTERVIEW SUBMISSIONS: The Tax Division requests a writing sample and a resume.

  • Submission Deadline: Please submit within 3 days following notification of selection for an interview.
  • Format: Adobe Acrobat PDF - The sample should be no more than 10 pages, double spaced.
  • Type of Writing Sample:

Each interview candidate should submit one writing sample reflecting his or her best writing. The sample should be an original piece that has not been extensively edited by a third party. Persuasive writing is preferred because most of the writing we do should persuade its audience. The sample should be no more than 10 pages, double spaced. Whether your sample is an entire document or part of a larger piece, a paragraph on a separate page providing background on the writing sample and enough context for the reader to understand the sample is very useful and will not count against the 10 page limit.

All email submissions should include a subject line formatted as: Honors Program Pre-Interview Submissions - Candidate First and Last Name. For example, an email subject line by Honors Program candidate “Jane Q. Candidate” could read: Honors Program -Jane Q. Candidate.

Special Instructions: Candidates should place their name in the top right-hand corner of the cover page or first page of the writing sample.  Do NOT put your name on each page - the Tax Division conducts a blind writing sample review and does NOT want your name listed on each page.

SUMMER LAW INTERN PROGRAM PRE-INTERVIEW SUBMISSIONSThe Tax Division requests a writing sample.

  • Submission Deadline: Please submit after being contacted for a telephone or virtual interview.

  • Submission Method: Submit by e-mail as an attachment to the address provided when contacted for an interview.  All submissions should include a standard subject line formatted as: SLIP Writing Sample –Candidate First and Last Name

Special Instructions: Candidates should place their name in the top right-hand corner of the document and indicate that it is for the Summer Law Intern Program.
