Interview Information:
Honors Program interviews will be conducted via virtual platform. Candidates should follow scheduling instructions from the Office of Attorney Recruitment and Management (OARM). OARM will notify candidates of their interview day and time. The USAO, District of New Mexico will provide supplemental instructions including the interview link and contacts for technical assistance.
Pre-Interview Submissions: The USAO for the District of New Mexico requests a current résumé and a writing sample limited to 15 pages. Both documents should be submitted electronically (see Submission Method, below).
- Submission Deadline: As soon as possible but no later than five calendar days following notification of interview selection.
- Format: Adobe Acrobat (PDF)
- Type of Writing Sample: The writing sample should be your individual work product, however if you are submitting briefs, memoranda, etc., in which other lawyers contributed to the work product, we ask that you identify the argument, point, etc., which you specifically researched and wrote. Submit only one sample, not to exceed 15 pages in length. A brief introductory paragraph to orient the reader is acceptable. Please be sensitive to unauthorized disclosure of personally identifiable information and consider redacting your sample, as appropriate.

Submit the requested documents by e-mail as PDF attachments to: aja.brooks@usdoj.gov.
Submit only one email with both PDF attachments (writing sample and resume.)
All submissions should be labeled as follows:
The subject line of the e-mail should be “Honors Program Submissions - Candidate Name”
Candidate Name – Writing Sample
Candidate Name – Resume
Special Instructions: The documents submitted should clearly identify the candidate or include the candidate's name in the top, right, corner of the first page.
