FARA eFile

System Updates and Announcements

All initial registration statements must be submitted online using the new FARA eFile system. Any registrant who has registered under the new eFile registration system must continue to submit all FARA filings using the new platform. This upgraded filing system allows registrants to submit data through a self-guided, web-based questionnaire, rather than uploading PDFs.

Registrants who registered under FARA prior to September 23, 2019, will continue to submit FARA filings to the FARA Unit by uploading PDFs. In the coming months, we will update you when the next phase is complete and all FARA filings will be submitted on the new platform.

To learn more about the new eFile registration system, review the Instructions for New Registrants.

Information for FARA eFile Registrants

FARA eFile is the method for electronically filing documents with the U.S. Department of Justice under the Foreign Agents Registration Act of 1938, as amended.

New Registrants can request an account ID and password required to access the eFile system. Login credentials will be sent to the email address provided. If you do not wish to provide an email address, you may call the Department of Justice’s FARA Unit at (202) 233-0776 for assistance. New registrants to eFile will utilize the FARA eFile Guided Registration Wizard to complete their registration.

Existing registrants use their account ID, password and registration number in order to login.

Submitted registration forms will be posted for public search at https://www.fara.gov.
