FARA eFile
System Notification
System Notification: In furtherance of the federal government’s mandate to implement multi-factor authentication (MFA) across all federal information systems, effective February 6, 2026, the Department of Justice (DOJ) has updated the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) eFile system to utilize the DOJ Login platform for authentication of all new and existing users. All users will be required to enroll in DOJ Login and register MFA credentials to ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity requirements and to enhance the security of the user authentication process. Please click here and then click on the "Sign up" link at the bottom of the page to register an account with DOJ Login.
When registering an account with DOJ Login, please be sure to enter just "FARA" in the “Application Requested and Rationale” field:
Users Affected: FARA and E-FILE Application Users
All registration statements must be submitted online using the FARA eFile system. This upgraded filing system allows registrants to submit data through a self-guided, web-based questionnaire, rather than uploading PDFs.
To learn more about the eFile registration system, review the Instructions for New Registrants Using DOJ Login.
