Jodi Lazarus

 

    Jodi received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics from the University of Virginia in 2003, and her Juris Doctor degree from Columbia Law School in 2006. Following law school, Jodi began her career as a litigation and regulatory associate at Covington & Burling LLP in Washington, D.C. Jodi then served as a law clerk to the Honorable Peter J. Messitte on the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. Jodi joined our Office in October 2009 and served with distinction as a line AUSA in the Appellate Division, and in the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor, Felony Trial, Felony Major Crimes, Domestic Violence Felony, and Sex Offense Sections of the Superior Court Division. Jodi then served as the Office’s Project Safe Childhood Coordinator, prosecuting child exploitation cases in United States District Court. Jodi has also held several supervisory roles in the Office, including as a Deputy Chief in the Sex Offense and Domestic Violence Section supervising misdemeanor AUSAs and later domestic violence felony AUSAs. Most recently Jodi served as a Deputy Chief in the Federal Major Crimes Section of the Criminal Division, overseeing child exploitation and riot cases. Jodi has received numerous awards during her time in the office, including the U.S. Attorney’s STAR Award for Distinguished Service.
