U.S. Attorney Ed Martin Jr. Highlights Successful Local Prosecutions During First 100 Days
WASHINGTON –U.S. Attorney Edward R. Martin Jr. marked his first 100 days in the office by highlighting a 25 percent drop, year-to-date, in violent crime across the District.
“This office is working diligently and collaboratively to achieve a lower rate in violent crime and in crime, across the board, for the residents and visitors to our nation’s capital,” said Martin.
Martin is a member of the President Trump’s “Make DC Safe and Beautiful” Task Force.
According to data provided by the Metropolitan Police Department, robberies have declined by 30 percent and homicides have decreased, year-to-date in 2025.
“I am proud of the tireless work that the people in this office do, day in and day out, to serve this community and their country,” Martin said.
The Office has brought charges in D.C. Superior Court against individuals who committed violent crimes against law enforcement officers, near neighborhood schools, and other violent acts. Recent cases include:
