The U.S. Attorney's Office of the District of Delaware is involved in a number of programs and projects in our community. Some of our major efforts are listed below.

School Programs

The District of Delaware has a robust school education prevention initiative. Educational opportunities include Road Rules and Rights, Opioid Prevention, Internet Safety, Law Enforcement Field Days, and general anti-violence programming.

Reintegrating ex-offenders successfully into the community is an important part of any public safety plan. There are significant benefits if returning citizens abandon their lives of crime and become productive citizens – neighborhoods are safer, these ex-offenders can contribute and be a positive influence for their families.  Taxpayer money saved from not incarcerating them can be used for crime prevention, social services and other programs benefiting the public.

Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee
The Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee sponsors and co-sponsors training seminars for federal, state and local law enforcement agencies addressing a variety of subjects.

Project Safe Childhood

Project Safe Childhood
Project Safe Childhood (PSC) is a Department of Justice initiative launched in 2006 that aims to combat the proliferation of technology-facilitated sexual exploitation crimes against children. The threat of sexual predators soliciting children for physical sexual contact is well-known and serious; the danger of perpetrators who produce, distribute, and possess child pornography is equally dramatic and disturbing.

Victim Witness Assistance

Victim Witness Assistance
Victims of crime may experience feelings of confusion, frustration, fear and anger. The United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Delaware is dedicated to making sure that victims of federal crimes and their family members are treated with compassion, fairness and respect.

Financial Litigation Unit
The Financial Litigation Unit litigates debt collection issues and enforces collection of criminal and civil debts owed to the United States or to victims of federal crime.

Project Safe Neighborhood

Project Safe Neighborhood
Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) is the anti-gang, anti-gun violence initiative of the Department of Justice. It has four primary components. You can find more information at the Project Safe Neighborhood website.
