U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of Oklahoma

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Antonio Lamar Ford Jr., age 31, of Ardmore, Oklahoma, was sentenced to 96 months in prison for one count of Involuntary Manslaughter in Indian Country.

The charge arose from an investigation by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

On November 21, 2024, Ford pleaded guilty to the charge. According to investigators, on November 16, 2023, Ford crashed his Dodge Challenger into another vehicle on Interstate 35 while attempting to pass in the right lane of travel.  The force of the collision ejected Ford’s passenger from the vehicle.  That passenger died on the scene.  Prior to the crash, Ford was driving at speeds in excess of 140 mph with a blood alcohol content above .08.  The crime occurred in Love County, within the boundaries of the Chickasaw Nation Reservation, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

The Honorable Ronald A. White, Chief U.S. District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, presided over the hearing.  Ford will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve a non-paroleable sentence of incarceration.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jordan Howanitz represented the United States.
