Okemah Resident Sentenced For Felony Assault

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Cainen Isaac Shephard, a/k/a Cainen Isaac Shepard, age 23, of Okemah, Oklahoma, was sentenced to 22 months in prison for one count of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon with Intent to do Bodily Harm in Indian Country.
The charge arose from an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Okemah Police Department.
On October 9, 2024, Shephard pleaded guilty to the charge. According to investigators, on July 2, 2024, Shephard fired upon a pickup truck carrying three passengers in the parking lot of an Okemah apartment complex, intending to cause bodily harm to the driver. No one was injured in the shooting. The crime occurred in Okfuskee County, within the boundaries of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Reservation, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The Honorable Ronald E. White, Chief U.S. District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, presided over the hearing. Shephard will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve a non-paroleable sentence of incarceration.
