On October 6, 2015, members of the forensic debate team “Verdict” stopped by the Tampa office to pick the brains of some of our AUSAs in preparation for the 2015-2016 season. This year’s debate topics are:
1. That the United States Federal Court system should be significantly reformed.
2. When in conflict, the right to individual privacy is more important than national security.
The U.S. Attorney welcomed our visitors and spoke about the mission of the office, he then opened up the floor for questions. Assistant U.S. Attorneys from the office's Civil Division, Criminal Division, and Appellate Division took turns answering the questions and providing valuable input for the students to consider as they form their resolutions.
There were definitely some future lawyers among this group.
