Karin Hoppmann joined the Middle District of Florida U.S. Attorney's Office in 2002. She previously served as First Assistant United States Attorney (2018–present), Executive AUSA (2008–2010), Senior Litigation Counsel (2016–2017), and as an AUSA in the Appellate Division. Before joining the USAO, she worked for the Department of Justice’s Criminal Appellate Section as part of the Attorney General’s Honor Program, which included a stint as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the USAO/EDVA. She is a graduate of Yale University (B.A. 1994, cum laude with distinction in the major), and Vanderbilt University School of Law (J.D. 1997, Order of the Coif), where she was a John W. Wade scholar and Executive Editor of the Law Review. She clerked for the Hon. Gerald Bard Tjoflat on the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. Among other awards, Karin has been the recipient of an Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys Director’s Award, in 2016, for Superior Performance of a Litigative Team.
